On a recent trip, I had time and reason to reflect upon the last few years of The Impact Exchange, and working to make a difference through business. As strange as it sounds, I re-realized that the entire reason for these initiatives has often been lost in the details, strategies, and discussions.

This is about reaching people and creating hope where it did not exist before. This may well happen in a small company that can finally become effective in selling its product, or where the employees can go home for dinner because of new efficiencies. But it also must be connected to the orphans, the abused, the homeless, and the jobless. If our goals never reach into the real world, what have we achieved?
